Balavihar Week 16- Section 1

February 24th, 2013

Meditation Time:
Our class started with chanting "Om" and then meditated on the beautiful form of Krishna for 5 minutes. We came out of our meditation seat by chanting "Om" three times which was followed by our opening prayer "sahanaavavathu".

Guru Stotram:
We practised the entire strotram.

Bhajan:
We did the "Raadhey Raadhey.." bhajan.

Bhagavad Gita:
Today we did till the 18th verse. We grouped the class today and made them do the chantings. They did a pretty good job but needs to chant more loudly and confidently.  For the Gita competition, third graders have to memorize till the 20th verse. There is an online learning tool at http://www.chinmayavrindavan.org/GeetaChantingCompetition.php that they can use for practicing.  Registration is now open for the Gita chanting competition.  Parents, please register your kids at the earliest and encourage them to practice regularly at home.

Bhaagvatam Time:
Today we heard the story of Indra and Vritra.

Likhita Japa:
We did our Likhita Japa. Kids are encouraged to do the japa at home too.

Aarati and Pledge:
We wound up the class with the Aarati and Pledge in the class. See you all next week. Until then keep practicing !!
